In the Jungle: Chapter 6

Chapter 6

“Oww!” moaned Faysaham, rubbing his fuzzy head. “What happened? Aren’t we supposed to be out of the book?”
Zoe looked around her. Surrounding her was darkness. Under her was the book’s page. She patted it.
“We’re still in the book,” she said.
“But hey, that’s impossible!” Bo cried.
Tommy tapped the book’s cover above him. “She’s right,” he said. “We’re still in the book. I wonder how that happened, though?”
Suddenly, a scene faded in, all around them. Trees sprouted up from nowhere. Vines looped around the branches and hung down. Flowers bloomed everywhere. Underneath was the soft, dirt ground.
“We’re in the jungle!” Tommy exclaimed. “We’re back in the Zamanon Jungle! Yahoo!”
He did a little flying dance.
“That was weird,” said Bo, partly to Tommy and mostly to the jungle around them. “How could we have come back here?”
“Simply,” said Tommy. “The Narrator has a weird imagination.”
Bo rolled his eyes. “I suppose,” he muttered.
Suddenly they heard a shrill cry.
“HELP ME! I’M TRAPPED!”
