“Hey! That sounds like my brother Mahasyaf!” Faysaham exclaimed. He galloped over to a tree where the voice was heard. The tree had a hole in it at the bottom of the trunk. But as Faysaham came nearer to the tree, he saw it was blocked by a thick barbed wiring.
“Mahasyaf,” Faysaham called at the edge of the barbed wire, “is that you?”
“Yes!” he yelled up, “are you Faysaham?”
“Yes!” Faysaham bellowed down, “how did you get in there?”
Silence. Then, “I don’t really know,” Mahasyaf blubbered up. “That day when you were fishin’, I was huntin’ and then someone covered my face so I couldn’t really see what happened. The next thing I knew, I was in here.”
“Well, um, I don’t really know how to get you out,” Faysaham blubbered back, tears rolling down his cheeks at the thought of losing his beautiful brother. “I do, though, have some friends here who might be able to help.”
Faysaham turned to Zoe, Bo and Tommy. His face was streaked with tears, and continuous tears rolling down his fluffy cheeks. His fluffy face was damp.
“We have to save him,” he sobbed. “He’s my ONLY brother, you know!
“Ok, we will,” said Bo, thinking of Bob at home, and he wondered if Bob would ever miss him that much, and even cry over him! Tears started to well up in Bo’s eyes, but he held them back. He tried to smile.
“All we have to do is find the person you said you knew that could help.” said Zoe.
“I meant you guys,” said Faysaham.
“Oh. Ok,” said Zoe, reddening, ”Well Tommy, do you have any powers you can use for this situation?”
“Powers?” Mahasyaf, who had been eavesdropping, yelled up. “What kind of friends did you find, Faysaham?”
“Kind of dumb ones, but they’ll do!” he yelled back.
“No need for powers in this situation, Zoe,” said Tommy wisely. “It’s just barbed wire. We can pull it out with our strength.”
Bo, silent all the while, suddenly reached out and clutched the wire tightly.
“Let’s get to business!” he bellowed.
But suddenly:
“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!”
Bo immediately let go of the wire, blood spurting from his monkey hands.
“Bo, obviously barbed wire is prickly,” Zoe said, rolling her eyes.
“That had to hurt,” said Mahasyaf. “Faysaham, you’re right about them being kinda dumb.”
“Yeah,” Faysaham agreed. “Oop-- I mean, be nice, Mahasyaf! They’re trying to get you out.”
There was a noise down in Mahasyaf’s hole, then it faded away.
“I guess I was wrong,” said Tommy meekly. “You’re right, Zoe; we must use powers.”
“You mean YOU must use powers,” Zoe said mockingly.
Tommy’s cheeks reddened. He strolled over to the barbed wire and lasered it with his eyes.
“Wow!” Mahasyaf cried. “Incredible!”
Faysaham muttered something. “Well, come out, Mahasyaf!”
A big, muscley cheetah leaped out of the tree hole.
“Why, thank you!’ he said fancily to Tommy.
Zoe leaned over and whispered to Bo, “Hey, remember we’re supposed to find a chimp, orangutan, panther, and cheetah? Do you think it might be him? He was trapped, you know.”
“Yeah, probably,” Bo whispered back.
A huge grin spread over Faysaham’s fluffy face. “That was cool!” he said to Tommy.
Tommy’s cheeks reddened and he smiled like he wanted to go do bowel movement.
“Well, we’ve freed him,” said Bo. Tommy glared at him with a face that said ‘You barely did anything except kill your hands!’
Bo gave him a look back that said, ‘Well, you said we could pull it out with our strength!’
“Anyways, um, we have something to do, so bye,” Bo continued.
“Oh hey! Can we come along?” asked Mahasyaf.
“Ya, sure,” Bo said, and he turned around, walking into the depths of the jungle.
Zoe and Tommy marched after him .
Mahasyaf shrugged and looked at Faysaham, then he ran after them. Faysaham shrugged to himself and followed his brother.
